Chengdu
The SECOND big part has come to an end. I`m in Chengdu looking forward
to 5 days of rest. No I`m sure I`ll be busy all the time but in another
way than in the road.
This morning I left the city of Luojiang on a big boulevard going south
thinking that when I reached G108 it would be fine. I was surprised.
Very bad. Some time later comes an explanation: from a minor road to the
right come a lot of cars. There was one more road going southwest to
G108, which has made a big turn. But it`s still worse than expected.

I`ve done a bit of calculation. 42 km to Deyang minus the 17 I`ve
already done to Luojiang that makes 25 plus the 46 from Deyang to
Chengdu (tells the map) makes 71 km.
The correction comes 12 km later. Chengdu: 78, that makes 90 km. OK I`ll
do that too.
Another Chinese motorcyclist makes me stop. He`s on the road too. He`s
going to Lhasa TOO (I`ve met 4 before). That`s apparently fashion among
certain people?

And now I`m sitting on my bed at Mix & Backpackers sweating.
Didn`t really have problems finding it.
As soon as G108 crossed the railway I knew exactly where I was on my
Chinese Sichuan map and that makes it a lot easier. Though I passed it
without noticing the first time. Had to go back. Aha, there it is.
It`s a bit like Far East.
Having washed my hands and my face, that always come first. My hands are
so dirty and the face probably too. The air is always dusty no matter
how good the road is.
The shower will have to wait till after the first cup of tea - and a
cookie or five.
